Application and Admission
 
We welcome applications from anyone who has completed high school and who is at least 17 years old. We do not require a TOEFL score for admission. Applications are due one month before the session begins. You Can Apply Online!

The following documents must be sent to the IEP office in order for the University to issue a SEVIS I-20AB, which can be used to apply for an F-1 student visa at an U.S. Consulate): A completed and signed application form (link to on-line form)
  1. A non-refundable application fee of $35.00 (Make check payable to IEP-UL Lafayette)
  2. A non-refundable tuition deposit of $150.00 (This amount will be deducted from your tuition when you register; optional.)
  3. A housing deposit of $100.00 plus a $50.00 application fee if you plan to live on-campus (Make check payable to IEP-UL Lafayette Housing.)
  4. An original translation of your official or certified true copy of your high school transcript or diploma.
  5. A letter of financial support
    • If you are self-sponsored or family-sponsored, please send and original (not a copy) translated bank statement stating that you have the money (US$7,010.00 for 6 months) to support yourself during your studies AND a letter from your sponsor stating that he or she will support you while you are in the U.S.
    • If you are supported by a government or corporation, please send a letter of financial guarantee from your sponsor stating that they will support you during your studies in the U.S.
  6. Immunization form
Notes:

All fees must be made out in U.S. dollars and made payable to IEP-UL Lafayette.

All documents must be originals and translated into English.

Only application forms can be photocopied or faxed.

When we have received all the requested information, we will process your application. We will send you an immunization form and and SEVIS I-20AB. Your immunization form must be returned to the IEP office during orientation. You may present the SEVIS I-20AB to the American Embassy or Consulate and request an F-1 student visa. You SHOULD NOT enter the United States on a B-visa if you want to study at a university.
