Housing

University housing is available for single students. We encourage students to live on campus to better integrate into university life and to gain more experience using English skills. You may get an application from the Office of International Affairs. Once you arrive on campus, you need to go to the Housing Office (Student Union, Room 240) to get your room assignment.

Residence halls are either male or female. There are no co-ed dormitories. Most rooms on campus are double rooms. There are a few private rooms, but students must pay more money to get a private room.

All students who live on campus must participate in the meal plan. There are several options in selecting meal plans.

Please note: Housing is available at an extra cost between sessions. However, there may be days when no meals are served in the cafeteria.

If you choose to live off-campus, it is your responsibility to find housing. The IEP staff will not be able to help you find an apartment. You can search the classified ads of the Daily Advertiser or The Times of Acadiana (two local newspapers) or check the many bulletin boards on campus. The Office of International Affairs also has an Apartment Finding Guide for the Lafayette area which may be useful. Apartments cost approximately $200 (shared) to $600 per month not including utilities (electricity, water, telephone, etc.).
