Program Information

We are a small American English language and culture program located in Lafayette, Louisiana. The goal of the Intensive English Program (IEP) is to improve the English language and cultural skills of non-native English speakers and offer the preparation needed to meet the basic requirements for most universities. We have five 8-week sessions per year.

There are currently students from every continent and 12 different countries studying in our program. We pride ourselves on our “family” atmosphere here at the IEP and hope you will join us soon!

Special features include:
  • Small class size.
  • Friendly and helpful staff and faculty.
  • Access to all university facilities such as computer labs and the sports center.
  • Trips to interesting places near Lafayette.
  • Opportunities to meet Americans and visit local schools and university classrooms.
  • Conversation hours and coffee hours.
  • Picnics and potlucks.
  • IEP-UL Lafayette Exit Exam (instead of the TOEFL!) to enter UL Lafayette.
