Orientation

New F-1 and J-1 international students are required to attend two orientation sessions. The first session, International Orientation, is offered virtually by the Office of International Affairs and can be accessed through Moodle. New F-1 and J-1 students will receive access once they receive their I-20/DS-2019 from the Graduate School or Undergraduate Admissions.  If you have received your I-20/DS-2019 and you don't see 'International Orientation' once you log into Moodle, please email oia@louisiana.edu with your name and ULID for access.

This orientation includes important information about campus services, immigration requirements, and SEVP (Student Exchange Visitor Program) rules and regulations. It can be completed at your convenience once you have been admitted, but must be completed within 30 days of your arrival in the U.S. You will view videos, download information, and answer quizzes to ensure that you understand your rights and responsibilities as an international student. You will also upload documents (passport, visa, and the forms listed below) so that the OIA can register your I-20 or DS-2019 in SEVIS (Student Exchange Visitor Information System), which is a federal requirement for all F-1 and J-1 students and scholars.

The second orientation is hosted by the Orientation Office (Undergraduates) OR the Graduate School and is where you will actually register for your classes, learn about procedures for on-campus employment if you have an assistantship, and meet with academic advisors. These offices will provide registration information to you via email.

Online International Orientation          (in Moodle)

The Office of International Affairs within the Division of Global Engagement provides a virtual orientation through Moodle to introduce new international students to the services it provides as well as information about immigration compliance.  All new international students will receive an email with more information once they receive their I-20s from the Graduate School or Undergraduate Admissions. New students should first complete the Orientation Registration Form below. The information below is also available in the virtual orientation in Moodle.
