Extracurricular Activities

Students are encouraged to become active members of campus life. There are many student cultural, academic, sports and social organizations which IEP students are welcome to join. Also, the University sponsors many activities such as plays, films, musical recitals, parties, and much more. You can find out about these activities at the Information Desk of the Student Union.

The Office of International Affairs sponsors a monthly International Hour during the fall and spring semesters. Everyone, internationals and Americans alike, is invited to attend. There are food and drinks, guests speakers, and door prizes.

The University of Louisiana at Lafayette's International Week is held annually each April. This week-long celebration includes the Ms. International Pageant, International Ball and Potluck, Soccer tournament, and many more exciting activities for UL students and members of the local community.

In addition, special activities are arranged each IEP session such as potluck dinners, birthday parties, activities, and trips to interesting places in Louisiana. In the past, we have taken trips to the Tabasco factory and Avery Island, the state capitol building in Baton Rouge, Zoosiana, the New Orleans French Quarter and Aquarium and Vermilionville.  Some of our group activities include picnics in Girard Park, ice-skating, bowling and international potluck lunches in Lafayette.
